For making a quad or a tornado lanyard we need to do the stitch that i’m showing how to do during this video.

This tutorial is on how to start a quad/tornado stitch lanyard/scoubidou/gimp/boondoggle.
Its a step by step tutorial and it is intended for beginners who had never started a quad/tornado lanyard (scoubidou boondoggle gimp) stitch before.

00:00- intro

00:57- things you need for this tutorial:
scissors, a medium size cardboad,glue,toothpicks,4 strings that are 1 feet long (for an ordinary quad/tornado lanyard), and a printer

01:40- first we need to cut the sheet of paper that is on this link that is at that start of this description. we need to cut the square black frame.

01:56- now we’re going to glue the paper the we’ve cut on the cardboard and cutting whats rest from the cardboard.

02:40- now we’re going to stab holes with the toothpicks on the small black circles , we have 8 small black circles on the glued sheet of paper. so we need to stab 8 holes.

03:49- taking all 4 strings and add them threw the holes that we’ve made. each string needs to be inserted threw 2 holes that are the closest from the color of the string. for example the green string needs to be inserted threw the 2 holes that are closest to the green string that is printed on the picture. please watch this step closely for more information.

06:52- from now we will actually starting to weave the strings to form our first quad (or a tornado) stitch lanyard/scoubidou (gimp boondoggle).
for every string we will place like as it showed on the paper. for more information watch this part closely.

12:09- check that are quad/tornado stitch lanyard (scoubidou gimp boondoggle)
is compete with no mistakes (very important!), by checking if the position of the strings are in the same order as the picture demonstrated. and stretch the strings as hard as you can.

12:30- Cutting the cardboard, you can do it with the scissors by cutting the cardboard and the paper that is stick to it in half, and the tore it with your hands. every now and then try to stretch the strings (but not to tight)

13:40- now we will need to stretch the strings of the quad/tornado scoubidou (lanyard boondoggle gimp).stretch them by taking 2 pairs of parallel strings .(mine are green+orange and purple+yellow) try to stretch them little by little.
