Hi, I’m Heidi from The Lanyard Ladies, and today I’ll be showing you how to make a cobra stitch out of Lanyard. You’re going to need two pieces of lanyard, approximately 60 inches in length. You’re going to take your lanyard, and you’re going to fold it over. You’re going to take a key ring, you’re going to put it through, twist your lanyard onto your key ring. You’re going to take your two colors, you’re going to put two colors in the middle, and two on the outside, so you’re going to choose whichever colors you want. I like to put one of each color in the middle, and one on the outside. You start by going left. I’m going to go left, and then cross over. Second string, the green, is going to go down around the back through the loop that you made, and then you’re going to pull both pieces together.

Now your purple is on this side, you’re always going to be working with your purple, purple goes across, green goes down around the back, through the loop, and pull it across. Now your purple’s on your left side, always with the purple, this way your green is going to be your border, and the purple is going to be in the middle. Make a loop down around the back, through the loop, pull it together, purple goes across, green goes down around the back, and then pull together. And you’ll see a pattern starting of your cobra, purple across, again, purples on this side. It’s easy to remember when you work with two different colors, whatever color you start with, that’s the color you’re going to loop across, purple always loops across, green goes down around the back.

What’s cool about the cobra stitch is that even though we’re doing purple across, and your purple is going to be in the middle, if you turn it over, now your green is in your middle, so you can wear the bracelet either way, or use it as your key chain, you can have it as purple across, or the green. Purple always goes across, green arounds, pull both of them together. And you just keep following this pattern, as long as you want to make it. And this is what it’ll look like when you’re done. And that’s how you make a cobra stitch out of lanyard.
