this tutorial I’ll show how to make one of the most basic stitches there is in lanyards/scoubidou/gimp/boondoggle , the box/square stitch.
Also it will include many pictures for every step.
I will be showing 2 ways of how to start the box/square stitch.

As you will see the box stitch will be using 2 strings, the length of them will depend on what you want to make, for a key chain usually will need a 1.5-2.5 meters for a string.

00:26 – first we need to cut 2 strings, one is twice as long as the other one.

00:38 – finding the center of the strings.

00:52 – weaving the upper string.

01:00 – weaving the under strings.

01:20 – stretching a little bit.

01:28 – now we finished the first stage.

01:30 – second picture, showing how to finish the first stitch of the brick/twist lanyard.

01:32 – cutting another string that is the same length of the shorter string, and finding the center of the new string.

01:50 – taking the new string and putting it underneath the box stitch.

01:58 – weaving the right side of the new string.

02:17 – weaving the left side of the new string.

02:36 – stretching the whole lanyard stitch.

02:47 – and here we’ve made the first brick/twist stitch!
